The Overhaul Update

The Overhaul update (also known as Evade 2.0) was a major update for Evade. It was originally released on November 1st, 2023 as part of Halloween 2023, but it had to be removed due to the unexpected amount of bugs and criticism from players. The update was re-released on October 13th, 2024.



Additions

Survival Streak

A new feature which counts the amount of rounds a player has won consecutively. Losing a round will reset the count.

Nametags

A new cosmetic feature which lets players change the colour of their nametag. Some glow in the dark, have a gradient or an effect and can be level-locked.

Candies

CandyIcon

Candies Candies - A new form of limited currency used in the Halloween Battle Pass. Candies spawn randomly throughout the map over the course of a round, and winning a round grants extra candies as well.

Changes

User Interface Overhaul

  • The in-game UI, menu UI and the shop UI all got a new clean look
  • Shop UI simplified

Gameplay Overhaul

  • Main equipment has been divided into three categories: Light, Utility and Power Slots
  • Now only 4 slots for consumables/deployables are equippable.
  • 2 perks can now be equipped
  • Some nerfs have been nerfed or altered to be fairly balanced when used in conjuction with other perks.
  • Nextbot AI has been tweaked and improved
  • Nextbot AI is now capable of flanking on larger servers.
  • Nextbot AI have been reprogrammed to express more creativity, such as responding to stimuli and more.
  • Added several types of vehicles which can be found in a few maps.

Galf's Shop

  • Emotes, nametags and more are now in the daily store.
  • Shop items and inventory items are now sorted by category.
  • New gamepass cosmetic sets.

In the Visuals, you now are be able to control the Nextbot volume, Boombox volume and turn off or on the Nextbot Vignette effect

In the Game, you now are be able to control the Viewbob.

Sound Overhaul

  • Footstep SFX depending on the surface the player is on.
  • New ambience SFX/VFX added.
  • Notifications for when an item expires.

Reworked Daily Mission Design

In Overhaul, the design of the daily missions page has been redesigned.

  • Improved UI for vehicles, tools and gamemodes
  • Overhauls of Skins, Usables and Utilities.
  • New optimization mechanics used for maps and players to cull out unnecessary objects, which should improve FPS.
  • Most of frontend and backend code of the game has been reprogrammed, which should improve FPS and server ping.
  • Possible further steps might be taken in the future to make the game more accessible on weaker devices.
